Ecuador: Indigenous peoples oppose Chinese mining projects over environmental & social concerns

After protests on the impacts by Chinese mining operations on indigenous peoples at the Condor Cordillera, communities are expecting the new Govt. of Ecuador to review the permits given to EcuaGold mining (part of Junefield). Also, an independent “tribunal recently held by indigenous peoples mentioned CRCC & Tongguan abuse of their right to free, prior & informed consent. Business & Human Rights Resouce Centre invited Junefield to respond. The company was not reachable for comment.
