According to report, on May 13, 2025, a Chinese worker died at PT GCNS in Morowali Industrial Park after being electrocuted during furnace repairs. The electrical panel was not de-energized, exposing him to dangerous working conditions. Two days later, an Indonesian dump-truck operator at PT ZTE, also located in Morowali Industrial Park was killed by an exposed electrical cable while cleaning in floodwater, according to the same report. Both companies were alleged to have neglected basic safety protocols.
