Kakataibo indigenous leader Mariano Isacama Feliciano has been found dead and with signs of torture on the banks of the Yurac river, in the Aguaytia district, department of Ucayali, in eastern Peru. Indigenous organisations link the attack to drug trafficking, illegal mining and logging. The indigenous leader had been missing since 21 June.

The community denounces attacks by members of the drug trade and illegal logging and mining.
