Misto Holdings' response to mass layoff at Dass factory
Misto Holdings would like to clarify the following points in relation to recent reports:
- Supply Chain Scope
Misto Holdings operates the FILA brand globally through a licensee structure, with the sole exception of the Republic of Korea. Dass is one of the licensees of Misto Luxembourg (a wholly owned subsidiary of Misto Holdings that holds FILA’s global IP rights) and operates the FILA brand in South America under a license agreement.
All FILA licensees are required to sign and comply with our Code of Conduct (CoC), which sets clear standards on human rights and labor practices. Dass’ supply chain is monitored through the BrandComply supplier management system, which we use to oversee compliance across all licensed operations.
With respect to the specific allegation, the facility in Coronel Suárez, Argentina, referenced in recent reports is not a registered supplier within Misto’s approved supply chain. Dass has confirmed directly to us that this facility has never been used for the production of FILA-branded products.
Upon reviewing follow-up local reports (see link below), it appears that the Coronel Suárez facility had been producing for Adidas, and that the closure was mainly due to frequent regulatory changes driven by the Argentine government’s shifting trade policies. All production has reportedly been relocated to Misiones (Eldorado).

- Responsible Purchasing Practices
While the Coronel Suárez facility is outside our authorized supply chain network, Misto remains firmly committed to ensuring that its purchasing practices uphold the rights and livelihoods of workers. Dass, as a licensee, is contractually bound to comply with our CoC, which includes provisions on responsible sourcing and labor standards.
Importantly, before any facility can be registered within Misto’s official supply chain, it must undergo and pass an independent third-party compliance audit. Only after successfully completing this process can a facility be approved and monitored as part of our network. This safeguard ensures that all registered suppliers meet the standards required to protect workers’ rights.
At the group level, Misto is also strengthening its governance systems to ensure comprehensive supply chain oversight. This includes reinforcing CoC compliance, enhancing monitoring tools, and increasing accountability mechanisms across all subsidiaries and licensees, in alignment with international human rights and labor standards.
- Next Steps
We are in dialogue with Dass to obtain further clarification and supporting documentation on their operations in Argentina. Misto Holdings remains committed to transparency and to working with all partners to prevent and address any potential risks to workers, while ensuring that our supply chain continues to uphold the highest standards.
