The Municipal Committee for the Defense of Common and Public Goods claims that, following an interview with one of its representatives, the mayor of Libre, Adán Fúnez, reportedly started a defamation campaign against the organisation, saying that the committee was responsible for the arson attack on the municipality on the 4th of July. The organisation claims that the campaign is aimed at discrediting the legitimate struggle of the defenders who reject the Ecotek/Pinares/Emco megaproject.
