National Union of General Workers Tokyo Tobu protest Mr. Amin's labour dispute with PS Mitsubishi

"東部けんり総行動がアミンさん労災闘争でピーエス三菱に抗議申し入れ行動", 27 Nov 2020

The National Union of General Workers Tokyo Tobu participated in the Tobu Rights Protest on 25 Nov 2020. At the event, we protested as part of Mr. Amin’s labour dispute with the general contractor, PS Mitsubishi, in front of their headquarters.

PS Mitsubishi is the contractor in charge of the apartment construction site where Mr. Amin was injured in a workplace accident in July 2019. However, the company has not taken any steps to assist Mr. Amin since the accident.

After his accident, Mr. Amin, who was employed by a vendor called Aya Co., Ltd., was strongly urged to lie to the hospital and the labour inspection office by saying that the accident happened in a different location from the construction site.

Mr. Amin decided to file a workplace accident report based on the facts of the situation and referred to PS Mitsubishi, which was responsible for the workplace accident and the client of Aya Co., Ltd. However, the company’s worksite director refused to acknowledge the report.

We believe that these companies are reacting so erratically towards Mr. Amin, who is originally from Pakistan, because of discrimination against non-Japanese people...

Recently, in response to Mr. Amin’s case, the Adachi Labour Inspection Office issued a remediation warning to PS Mitsubishi for violating the Labour Standards Act. The vendor, Aya Co., Ltd., has also received a remediation warning for hiding the workplace accident...
