A BBC Business Daily podcast interviewed Bibek, a Nepali construction worker in Qatar on his working conditions. Bibek was working on a "government project", to build a new bus depot. Bibek reported living in a crowded labour camp in October with six workers to a room which was dirty and infested with vermin. Workers were required to pay for their own food. When they protested, the company provided USD50 for food but did not pay for workers' first month of work. Soon afterwards, the company sent all workers home, cancelling their contracts abruptly and failed to communicate the reason for termination to workers.
