The Upper Don Department of Rostechnadzor, chaired by Deputy Head Dmitry Lodyanoy, held a technical meeting with representatives of Yakovlevsky Mining and Processing Plant (LLC) to discuss compliance with industrial safety and occupational health requirements, measures to reduce workplace injuries, and the implementation of corrective actions following investigations into accidents that occurred in 2025.

The meeting was attended by Olga Medvedeva, Head of the State Labour Inspectorate in the Belgorod Region, and Igor Klimov, Chairman of the trade union committee of the primary trade union organization at Yakovlevsky Mining and Processing Plant.

At Yakovlevsky Mining and Processing Plant, a production control service consisting of nine specialists has been established, operating on a 24/7 basis. Since the beginning of 2025:

  • 15 comprehensive inspections have been conducted;
  • 206 violations have been identified;

  • 4,272 observations have been recorded during workplace inspections;
  • 725 work stoppages have been enforced.

The plant is implementing and testing a remote control system for roadheaders used in rock extraction operations, allowing operators to work at a distance of up to 60 metres from the machine.

Following the meeting, a number of additional measures were identified to ensure compliance with industrial safety and occupational health requirements in the operation of the Class II hazardous production facility “Underground Mine.”
