In July 2020, The Lede reported that 250 Indian workers were stranded in a labour camp in Dubai, seeking help from Indian authorities in Kerala. They stated they had not been paid for three months and were stranded. They also did not have valid insurance cards and were told they had to pay for repatriation flights.
