3rd Central and Eastern Europe & Central Asia Summer Academy on Business and Human Rights
The 3rd Central and Eastern Europe & Central Asia Summer Academy on Business and Human Rights, taught be leading BHR scholars and professionals, will take place over 5 working days from 24 to 30 September, 2025, with an additional self-learning module preceding taught classes to ensure common foundations. Participants of the Summer Academy will obtain the knowledge and skills that will allow them to support the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in their respective countries and companies, which will contribute to improvement of the respect for human rights in the context of business operations across the CEE & CA region. Participants will:
- gain a comprehensive understanding of all three pillars of the UNGPs: the State duty to protect, the corporate responsibility to respect, and access to remedy.
- explore both theoretical foundations and practical applications, including policy development, human rights due diligence, and human rights impact assessments.
- participate in interactive workshops and case studies led by distinguished academics, legal experts, NGO leaders, and business professionals.
The 3rd CEE&CA BHR Summer Academy is open only to nationals/citizens of CEE & Central Asia countries, with participants upon successful completion of the course gaining the opportunity to join the network of BHR professionals in the region and becoming a member of the CEE&CA BHR Association.
