The Hisense maquiladora, located in Playas de Rosarito, will be sanctioned after at least seven female workers filed complaints of workplace sexual harassment against a company executive, confirmed the head of the State Ministry of Labor, Alejandro Arregui Ibarra...
...The victims are already receiving specialized support, according to the state official...
...He emphasized that the support goes beyond the sanction against the company and also includes emotional and legal assistance for the affected women...
During an inspection carried out by Ministry of Labor personnel, it was found that the company does not have a protocol to prevent and address cases of workplace violence and harassment, which constitutes a serious violation under current labor and human rights legislation.
"The inspection process is ongoing, and in the coming days we will determine the sanctioning procedure that the company must face," said Arregui Ibarra. He added that the State Attorney General’s Office has also launched an investigation into the complaints filed.
The workers identified a plant executive as the person responsible for the harassment, whose actions were described as repeated and widely known within the company, yet no corrective measures had previously been taken.
