On 17 May 2023, 4 protesters from climate action group Extinction Rebellion, including Heiker Weber and Ian Fox, were arrested and charged on numerous offenses including property damage after throwing paint on the Santos headquarters building in protest against the impact of fossil fuels on the environment during the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA) in Adelaide, Australia.
