Collective "Not Here"

The consultation assembly in Ohuira, where 453 members of the indigenous community of the Mayo-Yoreme Nation said no to the construction of a plant to produce 2,200 tons of ammonia per day, had barely ended when Claudia Susana Quintero's phone rang. She is an indigenous leader who represents the community before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) in the appeal that was granted to overturn all the permits granted by Semarnat to the company Gas y Petroquímica de Occidente, a subsidiary of the Swiss-German company Proman. She answered and a voice warned her: "one of the women from Aquí No ("Not Here") is going to be lifted". Since 2018, the community has been pushing for injunctions against the plant for a basic input in the production of chemical fertilisers. The leaders of the Aquí No collective are all women.
