Heri Badiawan, together with other residents, staged a rally outside the field office of PT Bumi Suksesindo. A witness alleged that the protesters were displaying the hammer-and-sickle image during the incident. Heri Badiawan was arrested for violating an anti-communism law that provides a 10-12 year prison sentence for whose who are found guilty of making public expressions of support for communism.
