Isolated Ayoreo indigenous
Sources
The lifeless body of an Ayoreo indigenous man living in voluntary isolation was found on a dirt road on the edge of the Gran Chaco. Ayoreo leaders, the only indigenous people in the Americas outside the Amazon Basin with members living in isolation, believe he may have been murdered and are demanding a thorough investigation. The image went viral among the Ayoreo, other indigenous peoples, Paraguayans and Mennonites, whose cattle cooperatives control part of the security and infrastructure in the absence of state presence.
