USA: Pizza Hut workers suffer from heat-related illnesses due to working in high temperatures without air-conditioning; incl. co. response

In June 2024, it was reported that workers at a Pizza Hut in Lafayette, Louisiana, were working in extreme heat during the high summer temperatures, due to a broken air conditioning system, causing workers to suffer from heat-related illnesses.

The restaurant was allegedly required to bring in $5,000 a week in order to cover the expenses to fix the air conditioning system, but had not yet met the target, leaving workers to work without air conditioning for six months.
