AMMC denies that its quarry is a source of dust in Tashkent, 1 марта 2023
The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Сomplex (AMMC), located in the Tashkent region, denied the message of the Makarenko Effect Telegram channel, which states that the main cause of dust in Tashkent is that the AMMC began stripping operations at a new site of the Yoshlik I deposit ".
The statement of the plant says that drilling and blasting for the purpose of overburdening the rock at the deposit and extracting ore is carried out "in accordance with regulatory requirements"...
“The Yoshlik I field is located in the southern part of the city of Almalyk, and Tashkent is located at a distance of 61.4 km (azimuth 333 degrees) in the northern part of it. The average annual wind speed in the area is 1.2 m/s, the probability of exceeding it is 5% and equals 5 m/s. The main wind direction is east (azimuth 90 degrees) and southeast (azimuth 120-135 degrees), that is, the city of Tashkent is not geographically located in the wind rose zone," the plant said.
"The pre-project and design decisions for the development of deposits provide for all factors of the possible occurrence of environmental risks and measures to prevent the negative impact of ongoing work on the environment," the AMMC added.
