In June 2018, Migrant-Rights.Org reported on labour abuses in Bahrain's construction sector. According to the allegations, approximately 450 construction workers in Bahrain have been denied their wages since January 2018. They have also allegedly suffered from poor health and safety conditions at their accommodations. The migrant workers are employed by Al Qawareer Contracting Co, Orlando Construction Co, International Trading Co, and Faisal Fardan Electrical Construction. All four companies are owned and managed by two partners. 

According to Migrant Rights, many workers now live in Bahrain with irregular status because their employers failed to renew their visas. Workers have reported fears of being detained by the police for simply seeking alternative employment or medical care.

Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited the owners to respond to these allegations, they did not.
