Judge in Abu Ghraib case: 'Sooner or later, plaintiffs have to come to court'

A group of men who claim a defense contractor is to blame for their mistreatment at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq will have to wait a little longer to see if their civil case goes forward…U.S. District Judge Gerald Bruce Lee heard arguments from CACI Premier Technology to dismiss much or all of the case over the objections of four men represented by a team of lawyers…On Friday, CACI’s lawyer…argued that a recent Supreme Court decision limits claims of international law violations that can be brought in U.S. courts. The plaintiffs countered that because Iraq and Abu Ghraib were under the control of a military coalition led by the U.S., the case should not be thrown out.
