Age Discrimination at Work to Be Banned [So. Korea]

Discrimination by age in recruitment or employment procedures will be prohibited from late next year and from Jan. 1, 2010, ``ageism in all areas'' - salary, pay increases, retirement or dismissal- will also be strictly banned. Employers who violate the rule will face up to 30 million won in fines...[T]he move is expected to bring about employers' protest.
