Cambodia: Thousands of footwear factory workers protest demanding legally-owed compensation following mass layoffs; incl. co. responses

Since July 2025, it was reported that over 2700 workers at LeCrown Shoes Industry in Cambodia were laid off without notice, and urged the company to pay their owed compensation. The factory stated that the layoffs were due to a lack of orders.

In September and October 2025, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Target, adidas and VF Corporation to respond. The responses can be found below.
