DataWorks Plus did not respond to concerns about Detroit PD's use of its facial recognition technology in violating individuals' rights

On August 21, 2023, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited DataWorks Plus to address the concerns raised regarding the utilization of its facial recognition technology by the Detroit Police Department in violating the rights of individuals. According to a New York Times article, this technology has been used in a manner resulting in wrongful arrests and false accusations, disproportionately affecting the black population. DataWorks Plus did not respond.
