Google did not reply to questions regarding human rights due diligence procedures for generative AI investments

On 21 March 2024, the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Google to respond to a questionnaire about its human rights due diligence efforts when investing in generative artificial intelligence (AI) startups and companies. There's growing concern among various stakeholders about the lack of human rights due diligence in the investments in (and development of) generative AI, potentially leading to societal harm and undermining fundamental rights.
