At HP Hood LLC we take the ethical treatment of animals and farm workers seriously. Dairy farms are independent businesses, a large portion of which are family owned, and they are required to operate in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.

If Hood becomes aware of a violation of a local, state, or federal law, we will work with our cooperative partners to investigate all concerns that are brought forward. If it is determined that there is a credible violation of the law, we will work with our cooperative partners to remediate the issue and/or remove the farm from our supply chain.

In addition, we require our dairy farm cooperative suppliers to utilize the national Farmers Assuring Responsible Management (FARM) program as a continuous improvement tool, as it establishes comprehensive Animal Care standards and provides resources and best management practices for Workforce Development issues.
