In Belarus, A1 operator subscribers began to apply for compensation due to an Internet shutdown that took place on 19 June 2020. The shutdown was allegedly caused by technical interruptions in access and occurred during street rallies in support of the detained presidential candidate Viktor Babariko.

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Minsk and other cities to express their civic position. However, they were unable to access social media or use the Internet. A1 was experiencing technical problems on that day, 19 June 2020, starting from 16:00 which led to the complete Internet shutdown.
