Japan: Blood tests find 30% of residents near Daikin Industries' factory found to exceed PFAS safety standards

The latest blood tests of 1,190 residents living in the vicinity of a major air conditioning manufacturer, Daikin Industries' Yodogawa Plant revealed that 30% exceeded the US standard levels.

Recognising that Daikin’s products are one of the causes of the groundwater pollution, Daikin discontinued manufacturing and using PFOA at the Yodogawa Plant in Settsu City by 2012 and has taken measures, such as groundwater pumping and purification, since 2009.
