Migrante slams Marcos admin over alleged failures to help OFWs
MIGRANTE International yesterday slammed President Marcos Jr. over his alleged continued failure to address pressing overseas Filipino worker (OFW) issues 18 months after he assumed the top post in the country.
In a statement for International Migrants’ Day (IMD), Migrante International said it is dismaying that Marcos has failed to address numerous issues faced by OFWs around the world.
“Today, International Migrants’ Day (IMD), Migrante International joins the migrants and peoples of the Philippines and the world in fighting for migrants’ rights and welfare and for social change that will end forced labor migration,” said Migrante.
“We condemn the Bongbong Marcos regime for its neglect of the pressing issues faced by OFWs and Filipino migrants even as it continues to intensify the implementation of the government’s labor export program,” it added.
