Myanmar: Garment workers report multiple rights violations at Tai Hong garment factory; incl. co. non-responses

In September 2024, it was reported that workers at Tai Hong are facing a series of violations, including not receiving full wages, verbal abuse and physical assault towards workers to meet targets, limited medicine available at the factory clinic, workers denied medication even if they are feeling unwell, the factory ruling that medicine cannot be given after 2pm, no transport arranged for workers who work overtime, workers having to work without drinking water or go to the toilet, the factory failing to provide an employment contract to workers, lack of clean toilets, lack of clean water, day labourers dismissed arbitrarily, workers having to buy damaged or lost items with their own money, and the Workplace Coordination Committee failing to resolve disputes in the workplace. A complaint was filed with the Labour Office regarding working conditions at the factory, where a settlement was reached.

In December 2024, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited Frasers Group and New Yorker to respond. They did not.
