Portugal: Garment factories close, laying off +400 workers; incl. co. responses

In December 2024, it was reported that garment factories in Portugal (SN1 and SN2 of Salgado & Neto and Leunam) had closed due to a reduction in orders and inflation. This has led to the dismissal of 350 workers from Salgado & Neto, and 86 workers at Leunam.

In July 2025, Business & Human Rights Resource Centre invited PVH (reported buyer from Salgado & Neto and Leunam, Benetton (reported buyer from Leunam) and MANGO (reported buyer from Leunam) to respond. The responses can be found below.
