The Civil Society Platform for Japan's National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (BHR-NAP Platform), a coalition of NGOs working on issues related to business and human rights, have submitted recommendations to the Japanese government regarding the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP) currently being prepared. The BHR-NAP Platform urges the government to ensure, inter alia, that the is based fully on the UN Guiding Principles and Japan’s international human rights obligations, and that the process of NAP formulation is fully inclusive of stakeholders, including civil society and communities potentially affected by adverse human rights impacts.
