Marvin Damián Castro Molina was a human rights defender from the South of Honduras, Choluteca, who defended his territory against the imposition of economic projects such as mining, agro-industry and hydroelectric dams. He formed part of the human rights and environmental organisation, MassVida. He disappeared on the Sunday and his body was found on Monday 13th July 2020, after having expressed concern for his own safety as coordinator of the youth environmental defence movements in the South of the country. National and international organisations have called for a thorough investigation into the killing.
