Norway oil fund excludes 2 Israeli companies

Norway excluded two Israeli firms from its $450 billion sovereign wealth fund…saying it would be unethical to invest in [Africa Israel Investments and Danya Cebus (part of Africa Israel)]…because they have helped build Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land…Norway's Ministry of Finance also said it would no longer invest in Malaysian forestry company Samling Global…because of some of its logging activities…Aslak Sckanke, senior adviser to the Norwegian wealth fund's Council on Ethics…"In no way is there a boycott of Israeli firms," he said. "[…]We look at what companies do, not where they are from." A spokesman for Africa Israel said the company was no longer building West Bank settlements…Samling Global could not be immediately reached for comment [also refers to Elbit Systems]
