UAE: State news agency reports labour dispute settlement involving 320 workers

On 7 September 2019, the Emirates state news agency reported the settlement of a labour dispute involving 320 workers in Abu Dhabi. According to the report, the Abu Dhabi Labour Tribunal at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department set-up a mobile court to expedite the processing of workers’ claims in relation to salary delays.

The court also ruled to liquidate the implicated company’s bank guarantee. Reports indicated the transfer of workers’ residences to another company. Those choosing to return home were apparently provided with tickets.

The implicated company was not named in the article. No information was provided on the nationality of workers involved.
