Cambodia: Govt. rescue 75 foreign victims of human trafficking in Oddar Meanchey province in ongoing efforts to combat surging online scams and human trafficking

"75 foreigners rescued from casino", 18 October 2022

75 foreigners – believed to have been illegally trafficked into Cambodia – have been recued by authorities from a casino in Cambodia.

Oddar Meanchey provincial authorities, in cooperation with professional institutions, conducted an operation to rescue 75 foreigners, of various nationalities, from the O’Smach casino area in Oddar Meanchey province, where they were suspected of being trafficked from abroad.

Chou Bun Eng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior and Permanent Vice-Chair of the National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking, said that 75 foreigners were found by authorities in O’Smach…

The victims were trafficked from from Vietnam, China, India, Malaysia and Indonesia to work at the casino.

All the victims are currently being held in Siem Reap while experts are investigating.

She confirmed that during this operation, the victims filed a complaint to Samdech Krala Hom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior…
