...According to the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Fire Department, the Jeonbuk Provincial Police Agency, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, on April 16 at 11:43am, A (63), a subcontracted employee working at SeAH Besteel's Gunsan plant, was crushed to death by a pipe silencer weighing 0.5t.

A was reportedly working on cutting the lower part of the pipe silencer with a grinder when the accident occurred.

...The Ministry of Employment and Labor said it plans to take strict action considering that four fatal accidents killing five workers have occurred at the SeAH Besteel plant since the implementation of the Serious Accident Punishment Act in January 2022.

...The Ministry plans to issue a stop-work order, investigate the cause of the accidents and whether there were violations of the Serious Accident Punishment Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and order a safety diagnosis to prepare and implement special safety management measures to eradicate fatal accidents.
