On March 25, 2016, Gresik District Court sentenced two officers of FSPBI - KASBI Union, Abdul Hakam, and Agus Budiono, and sent them to prison for three months. The case started in March 2013. FSPBI-KASBI had protested in front of Petrokimia factory, to demand the abolition of contractual work. This protest was not an isolated occurence. Petrokimia reported Abdul and Agus' actions to the police, claiming they were threating and provoking other workers. Gresik Police followed it up by making Hakam and Budiono suspects, with allegations of committing criminal offenses. The High Court eventually declared them both guilty. Union appeal to the Supreme Court was rejected.
