Chevron steps up Ecuador legal fight

Chevron...demanded the removal of the judge in the case and released videos it claims contain evidence of political interference and corruption in the country...Ecuador’s goverment...[said:] “As with all allegations of judicial impropriety, this matter will be thoroughly, aggressively and fairly investigated,”...“As of this date, the government of Ecuador has received no evidence from Chevron, only allegations. The government expects Chevron’s full co-operation in this investigation, including the production of any videotapes in its possession, rather than forcing the government to review heavily edited videotapes from the Chevron website.”
