Kakao announced on September 7 creation of a 10 billion Won fund for 'mutual benefit and cooperation with mobility platform workers.'

Last April, Kakao had announced their socially sustainable development plan that uses the 300 billion Won allocated as a cooperation fund over the next five years. The 'mobility workers cooperation fund' is one part of the sustainable development plan. Kakao plans to create a 10 billion Won fund that is used to support mobility platform workers such as taxi drivers and designated drivers service providers who experience disease or accident.

Eun-taek Hong, co-CEO of Kakao, commented "we aim to listen to the voices and expand our cooperation with mobility platform workers who are exposed to more risk due to the industry characteristics," and "since platform workers do not only use one platform, we hope that our creation of the fund will be the beginning of more platform company and public sector support."
