Investigation report released on 13 January 2026 by China Labor Watch revealed labour rights violations at China-based Shunjia Toys factory, a major supplier producing Labubu toys for Pop Mart. According to report, 16 to 17 year-olds were found to be hired as long-term workers. Workers were not equipped with legally required protections and were requested to sign blank or poorly explained contracts. Other labour violations documented in the report includes inadequate health and safety training, unrealistic production targets and excessive overtime far beyond legal limits.

Upon media requests, Pop Mart responded that it takes worker welfare and safety at its manufacturing partners seriously and emphasised that it conducts regular, standardised audits of its original equipment manufacturers, including annual independent third-party inspections by internationally recognised firms.
