Corporate social responsibility to be a new form of cultural revolution - SAARC Secretary General

Corporate Social Responsibility in South Asia would be a new form of cultural revolution and the corporate sector should invest, keeping in mind the medium and the long term interests, rather than the short term. This was stated by Mr Q A M A Rahim, Secretary General, South Asian Association of Regional Conference at a meeting organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry...Mr Rahim said that development was a joint activity and should not be the sole responsibility or prerogatives of the governments. Stressing that issues such as economic welfare and upliftment, overall social improvements in sectors like education, health and sanitation, housing and employment required the full involvement and participation of all actors in the system.
