Eraldo Moreira Luz and Jorge Matias da Silva are members of the Assentamento Boa Esperança community in Pará. On 13 September, they were allegedly approached by two men on a motorcycle who proceeded to shoot and kill them before fleeing. Jorge Matias da Silva was transported to the hospital but died en-route. Over 600 farmers have been murdered in the area to date, over alleged conflicts between communities and land-owners.
