The tea workers and the employees of the tea gardens belonging to Apeejay Tea Limited on Monday staged a nine-hour hunger strike protesting against the company's failure to disburse the fortnightly wages of the tea workers, the monthly salaries, travel allowances, etc., of the employees regularly for the past few months.
Simultaneously, the workers and the employees of the tea gardens of Nafuk, Jabaka and Mathurapur in the Charaideo district, belonging to Apeejay Tea Ltd., staged sit-in protests in their respective tea gardens' office premises.
The protest...demanded that the company release their dues at the earliest.
