Satya Bumi, an Indonesian national CSOs together with other organisations from Indonesia, USA, United Kingdom and European Union, demands Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) to withdraw the certification process on sustainable forest management and any list for potential certification for PT Mayawana Persada and PT Industrial Forest Plantation.

CSOs shared their concerns on PT Mayawana Persada's operation in 2021 - 2024. They alleges that PT Mayawana Persada has cleared 34,000 acres of land, of which two-thirds were peatland areas and natural ecosystems for carbon absorption; threatens Borneo's endemic habitat and the livelihood of indigenous communities in Kualan Hilir and North Kayong. Meanwhile, PT Industrial Forest Plantation is allegedly listed second, as the most aggressive company for deforestation.

Business and Human Rights Centre invited PT Mayawana Persada and PT Industrial Forest Plantation to respond. PT Mayawana Persada could not be reached. PT Industrial Forest Plantation did not respond.
