Response from Alicorp regarding indirectly sourcing from Ocho Sur that is allegedly not respecting indigenous peoples' rights

Alicorp is the leading consumer branded products company in Peru and one of the largest in South America... Our crude palm oil supply comes from 9 extraction plants. It is estimated that the Peruvian palm production chain brings together 7,000 Peruvian families dedicated to this crop as small producers, mostly as a subsistence economy and associated with the National Board of Palm Oil of Peru. These suppliers have confirmed us, through an affidavit, that they do not provide us with raw material from deforested areas. Alicorp denies any direct or indirect commercial link with Ocho Sur.

Alicorp has a firm commitment to the sustainability of its palm oil chain and has initiated a program to close the gaps of its suppliers, which are basically associations of small farmers. To achieve this objective, our company has established specific action plans, for which it has partnered with international consultants (Proforest -Solidaridad).
