On 3 December, a house of Roman Tagirov an activist from Lermontov city was searched by police. Tagirov along with other local activists is protesting against construction of a chemical factory in the city over health concerns. Tagirov is one of the activists who submitted a request to conduct a rally in Pyatigorsk against a chemical plant in the city of Lermontov. Activists believe that authorities are trying to put pressure on them through representatives of law enforcement so that they abandon the idea of holding a rally and stop collecting signatures against the construction of a chemical plant in Lermontov.
