Russia: 28 violations of environmental legislation identified at Kachkanar Mining & Processing Plant owned by EVRAZ

Rosprirodnadzor conducted a scheduled inspection of JSC EVRAZ KGOK, 19 November 2025
Inspectors from the Ural Interregional Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources carried out a scheduled on-site inspection of JSC EVRAZ KGOK. As part of the supervisory measures, they visited the enterprise’s territory and inspected production sites. Together with specialists from the Federal State Budgetary Institution “CLATI for the Ural Federal District,” samples were taken of waste, atmospheric emission sources, and industrial wastewater discharge sources.
As a result of the inspection, 28 violations of Russia’s environmental legislation were identified. Among them were cases of payments for negative environmental impact being made in violation of legal requirements, as well as the company’s operations being conducted in breach of the conditions of its integrated environmental permit.
JSC EVRAZ KGOK has been issued an order to eliminate the identified violations. Compliance with the order is under the control of the supervisory authority. The legal entity and the responsible officials will be held administratively liable.
