New report reveals extent of alleged human rights abuses linked to Total's activities in Uganda & Tanzania

Ahead of an appeal court ruling in the case against Total under the French Duty of Vigilance law for alleged human rights abuses in Uganda, Friends of the Earth France and Survie publish a new report entitled "A nightmare called Total - An alarming increase in human rights violations in Uganda and Tanzania". Based on field research, the report has been submitted as evidence in the case against Total, led by these two French organisations and four Ugandan groups. It reports that alleged human rights violations denounced over a year ago are still ongoing and have multiplied, now impacting about 100,000 people. The court of appeal ruling is expected on 10 December, 2020.

Total, in a statement in Le Monde, has challenged the accusations. The article in French is linked below.
