More than 500 Apple employees submitted complaints to an employee activist group, #AppleToo, citing verbal abuse, sexual harassment, retaliation and discrimination at work, among other issues. Employees also raised concerns that Apple does not protect their personal privacy and at times actively invades their privacy for security reasons.

In response to the allegations of verbal abuse, sexual harassment, retaliation and discrimination, Apple said in a statement, “We are and have always been deeply committed to creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive workplace. ... We take all concerns seriously and we thoroughly investigate whenever a concern is raised and, out of respect for the privacy of any individuals involved, we do not discuss specific employee matters.” Apple did not respond to a request for comment on allegations that it invades employees' privacy.
