Uzbekistan: Indian workers building Almalyk’s CPP‑3 protest over unpaid wages

Anschuldigungen

[Translation prepared by Business & Human Rights Centre]

Indian workers strike again in Almalyk, 15 October 2025

Indian workers hired by Enter Engineering to build a major facility, Copper Processing Plant 3 (CPP-3) in Almalyk, began another strike on October 13: they haven't been paid for August, September, and the first half of October...

Apparently, the Indian workers fear that Enter Engineering, which is under the protection of the Uzbek government, will refuse to pay them at the end of their annual contract.

They recently went on strike...and succeeded in securing payment of their unpaid wages.

The remaining foreign workers at Enter Engineering haven't even been paid their June wages...
