ソース

On 25 March 2025, garment workers in Dhaka, Bangladesh, were violently attacked by police as they marched towards the Secretariat to demand payment of overdue wages and Eid bonuses from their employers in the ready-made garment sector. The protest, which included workers from factories such as TNZ Apparels, Apparel Plus Eco Limited, Roar Fashion, Style Craft Garments, and Dird Composite Textile Limited, had been ongoing for three days with sit-ins in front of the Ministry of Labour. As the march reached the Secretariat, police intervened with sound grenades, tear gas, and baton charges, resulting in injuries to around 40 garment workers. Labour unions and human rights organisations condemned the excessive use of force.
